More Michigan Pics

Here are a few more pictures from Pictured Rocks:
It was a long drive, on dusty roads, to get anywhere.  One day we spent over an hour trying to drive to Paradise.  We had to drive east to Grand Marais, and then took a detour that was even worse than the road we had been on in the first place.  It was a really long way.

We could hardly see the road in front of us.

We took an unplanned detour to Taquamenon Falls State Park, which was a huge touristy place, but pretty cool falls.  “The Third Largest East of the Mississippi,” or something like that.
It’s hard to tell from this picture, but they let people wade in the river/falls.  We didn’t do it, but I wanted to.  It was another super hot day.  The tourists were too thick for Papa.

We finally got to Paradise.

If there was supposed to be something there, we never saw it.  It was totally not worth it, and a long way back to the campsite…..

But Lake Superior felt great after that!!!!
