We went to Minneapolis!

We went to Minneapolis to visit Roya on her birthday.
Unfortunately, she was sick.  Here she is with her juice.

We didn’t do a whole lot as she didn’t feel well.  We decided to go out to lunch close to campus.  On the way we spotted this restaurant….

We didn’t go there, but just down the block this restaurant advertised many "mock" meat dishes and it smelled great from the outside.  Inside, all of the customers were Asian, so we thought it might be a good pick…

We ordered tofu with black mushrooms, and mock duck with vegetables.  The portions were huge and everything tasted great.

Ever since we got home I’ve been really busy and tired.  This evening I got home late after attending a lecture, part of the Madison Book Festival.  It was worth it, though, to see and hear Judy Blume in person!!!

There are some amazing restaurants in Minn. I can’t remember their names but Ken can. Next time you go, call us! The one you picked looks pretty good.

love that mock meat. Minneapolis has a lot of really good vegan places.

What’s funny is that I had gone onto the PPK forums asking for advice on where to eat and had gotten several great-sounding suggestions. But my daughter didn’t feel up to any treks and this place was two blocks from her dorm! Another reason we picked it was that my other daughter is living in Hong Kong, so we were with her in spirit.

    Wow!
This food looks awesome. Way to go, happening to eat at that place! And, it’s funny that it’s right down the block from the Kowloon place, and also from U-Minn.
The other night I happened into a small restaurant and lucked into getting some really good (and vegetarian) food, that looked something like this. No fake meat, though…but it have weird random fungus and wonton wrappers in it.
