Ginger, garlic, vitamin C….

We’re going through a period of bad colds.  My husband had one for two weeks, and now I’m battling the same thing, only I’m trying to do all the things I suggested he do, but didn’t, to see whether mine will be shorter.  For one thing, I’m a big fan of vitamin C, and even though some research suggests otherwise, I think it’s what has kept me so healthy this year (and in the last several winters).  Almost everything I’ve cooked in the last few weeks has been loaded with ginger, garlic, and sinus-opening peppers.  And I’m not someone who likes things spicy!  This evening I made the latest post on the Petitchef site.  I mean, it’s the recipe-of-the-day, from "Eat and Stay Fit."  I had all the ingredients except for the jalapenos, so I used some sweet peppers and added cayenne.  With dal, coconut-milk rice, and oranges, I think we had a cold-fighting meal!  The only thing I’d change is that in future I’d make some broccoli or another green vegetable to go with the brown-looking meal!

    Try this:
Scroll down until you get to the garlic cure.
I want to know if it works. I used to take garlic capsules for colds and it seemed to work.
    Hope you feel better soon.

When either of us feel a cold coming on, we take two grams of vitamin c, plus a vit c/zinc lozenge, twice a day. Always seems to stop the cold from establishing. Hope you both feel better soon.
